With chillier nights come the beginnings of autumn. Fall-inspired things, such as hot ciders, alongside changing leaves of striking colors and other aspects of the changing season, are found everywhere. Some of the brightest and boldest designs inspire that fall feeling, in some cases – all year long. This inspired us to highlight some of the beautiful tile that highlights those autumn hues. Welcome to Part 1 of our Fall-Inspired Tile Looks.
So what gives a home that fall-feel? Colors are key – and you can choose to either embrace the bold or go with more of a neutral and muted fall tone. There are gorgeous colors that can achieve both of these different design approaches, let’s take a look!
Fall-Inspired Tile Looks – Part 1
Sienna is a rich, earthy red-brown that can be brightened or muted to create a different look or feel. Tones of this color evoke a rustic, warm essence. Sienna colored tile looks great either as one solid color or in the ribbons of color that swirl throughout a multi-colored stone. Above is an excellent example of sienna hues throughout the tile and design of space.
We’ve discussed how terracotta is gaining popularity as a tile entity all its own. Terracotta tile instantly transforms the look of a room to something out of a Southwestern getaway. Terracotta’s warm red and brown hue continues where Sienna left off – allowing those who choose to feature this color or tile in a project to achieve the look of an Indian-summer or the warm weather of fall.
Mustard, and Wine?
Ok, we don’t think you should physically (from a taste perspective) mix the two – however the dark reds, and muted (yet not dull) yellows are reminders of falling and changing leaves (as well as enjoying a delicious and hearty meal on a chilly fall evening). Be sure to choose the right hues of these colors based on your room’s lighting and other aspects.
