Tile Trends for 2018 are part of the current conversation at Tile Wholesalers of Newark. Why? Well, we’re about two months away from the new year. Our customers are preparing for projects to round out 2017 or kick off 2018. Here are some of the looks we’ve been discussing.
What are the Tile Trends for 2018?
Bold Patterned Tiles
Bold patterns are not going anywhere in 2018. Quite the contrary. People are looking to add a POP to their projects. With an array of colors available, from subtle to wow – there is a bold, patterned look for any room and any project. A patterned tile look goes great on accent walls, small space flooring, and breaks up the monotony of a plain tile layout.
Mixing and matching tile with different texture was a trend we’ve seen this year and one that will go into the next. Why? People are bored with monotony. Matte and shiny, smooth and rugged – playing with different surfaces creates different looks. Create a textured accent wall in a kitchen, bedroom or bathroom with different textured tile.
Large Format/Slab Tile
Large format tile is making a big splash in the tile world. With advancements in processing and manufacturing – these large slabs of tile are cut super thin. This helps keep their weight down. Large format or slab tile also means fewer grout lines, which means less wear and tear. When you have a chance, visit our previous blog post on Large Format Tile. We discuss this emerging trend in a little more detail.
According to Pantone, 2018 will see a lot of metallic trends. Why not include metallics in your tile? We’re still in love with this look which we were a part of – which included mixed metals in a stylish backsplash. The bonus brick exposed wall added the perfect feel to this look!
Mixed metals allow you to play with different color schemes, textures, and looks. There are a number of different colors and mediums available.
